BUSINESS UNIT: BRAND AND COMMUNICATIONS GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERNSHIP. 6 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT. (REF:2017/01/09)
The Market Theatre Foundation invites applications from Graphic Design students / Graphic Design alumni under the age of 35 for a 6-month internship in the Market Theatre Foundation’s Brand & Communications Department. The Intern will be supervised by the Market Theatre Foundation’s CEO Ismail Mahomed and Brand & Communications Manager, Zama Buthelezi while producing innovative and eye-catching content for projects across the Foundation’s business units: Market Theatre, Market Theatre Laboratory, Market Photo Workshop and the Windybrow Arts Centre.
The Intern will be primarily responsible for producing the Market Theatre Foundation’s popular weekly online publication, Buzz. The Intern will also work on a select number of small but exciting and diverse projects specifically suited to online communication. A flair for social media engagement and a passion for the creative sector is vital. The Intern must be self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic team meeting strict deadlines and in an environment where creative expression must always break the glass ceiling.
Applicants must submit proof of their qualification in Graphic Design and a recent portfolio of some of their work. Shortlisted applicants will be tasked with an on-sight project to complete to demonstrate their competence for the internship.
