This weekend, The Youth & African Indigenous Languages Dialogue will be taking place at the Market Theatre as part of their Heritage Day Celebrations.
As part of commemorating the Heritage Month; Pillar of Strength Media is calling the young people of Johannesburg to join the dialogue on the importance of knowing; preserving and speaking African Indigenous Languages! The event will have speakers from the Academic, Cultural and Religions Sectors. The speakers will be sharing the history of the African Indigenous Languages, the current status of preservation or lack thereof as well as the future or road ahead. We will also have a panel discussions. ACT is very excited top announce that our CEO Marcus Desando will be partaking in a panel discussion about funding for indigenous language projects.

The Market Theatre Foundation invites applications from Graphic Design students / Graphic Design alumni under the age of 35 for a 6-month internship in the Market Theatre Foundation’s Brand & Communications Department. The Intern will be supervised by the Market Theatre Foundation’s CEO Ismail Mahomed and Brand & Communications Manager, Zama Buthelezi while producing innovative and eye-catching content for projects across the Foundation’s business units: Market Theatre, Market Theatre Laboratory, Market Photo Workshop and the Windybrow Arts Centre.
It is with great sadness that The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) bids farewell to it’s beloved former trustee, ambassador and award-winning Theatre Great, Themi Venturas.
Themi has been battling pancreatic cancer for the past few months. He was moved to the hospice yesterday (Monday 11th September 2017) where he passed away at 8pm. Themi is survived by his wife Trish and his two sons Matthew and Alexander.
